This workshop will be led by Mikayla Trimpey, Mattie O’Lasky, and Kelly Frailly.
With a Masters degree in Theatre Arts from BGSU, Mikayla is a theatre artist excited to continue her involvement in local theatre ventures and collaborate with creative individuals in her community. She has performed with many community theatres in NW Ohio, including Black Swamp Players, 3B Productions, Issue Box, Waterville Playshop, and Stone Productions. She has also directed multiple productions with Horizon Youth Theatre, as well as serves on the board where she primarily contributes to the company's social media presence and grant writing. Through her experience with youth and community theatre, Mikayla has developed a passion for non-profit work and creating opportunities for young people to continue growing through their involvement in theatre- whether it be on stage, in a workshop, or behind the scenes.
Mattie O’Lasky graduated from Ashland University with a Musical Theatre Major and Religion minor. While spending her time at AU, she performed in seven productions, and also had the opportunity to stage manage and direct. Since graduating in December of 2023, Mattie has been a private vocal coach in the area, and loves working with her students. She also has assisted with All Shook Up at Liberty Benton high school, choreographed Finding Nemo Jr at Waterville Playshop, stage managed Something Rotten at Fort Findlay Playhouse, performed as Lily St. Regis in Annie, and music directed The Big Bad Musical with HYT! Mattie is dedicated to fostering creativity and helping students find their unique voice. Mattie centers on building a supportive and challenging environment where students can explore their love for the arts!
Kelly Frailly is a sought after Vocal Coach and Music Director in the Northwest Ohio area. Kelly received her Bachelors of Music Education (Choral/Voice) from Bowling Green State University in 2017 and completed the Contemporary Commercial Voice Summer Institute at Shenandoah Conservatory in 2022. She taught choir and musical theatre to grades 6-12 in public schools throughout Ohio for six years and has been giving vocal lessons for over a decade. Students Kelly has worked with have gone on to be accepted to prestigious BFA programs including NYU, AMDA, EMU, Rider, ONU, and OU. She has additionally participated in Masterclasses with Laura Osnes, Kara Lindsay, Edrie Means Weekly, and Emily Kristen Morris. Kelly has acted as Director and Music Director for six different theatre companies, multiple school districts, and is no stranger to the stage herself, often seen performing any chance she gets! When not teaching or performing, Kelly enjoys iced coffee, afternoon naps, and making people smile.
