Strengthening Self through Performance

$100.00

This class is open to students 13+

This workshop will look at performance and character creation as a way to strengthen a young performer's sense of self and self-identity. We will explore character archetypes and type casting as we work to identify our "types" and explore ways to break out of those casts to fit ourselves into other kinds of roles. We will play with how to portray a wide range of identities, and in doing so, become more confident in our core identity.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify character archetypes and our personal "types"

  • Explore different ways of performing different identities

  • Hone skills necessary to begin to break out of typecasting

This workshop will be on 1/24 from 10-1 at the Bowling Green Community Center.

The capacity for this workshop is 10
