This workshop is open to students 13+

Learn the intricacies and intersectionality of graphic design and theatre. This course is designed to introduce students to the elements of design and the benefits of consistent marketing and branding for theatre groups. Students will have the opportunity to contribute to and collaborate on the poster design for the upcoming production of “The Little Prince”. Students will be required to bring their own tablet or laptop with internet capabilities.

Course Objectives:

  • learn the elements of design

  • discuss the history and importance of graphic design in the theatre

  • design a poster that effectively communicates the tone of a production

This course will take place on 2/14 from 10-1 at the Bowling Green Community Center.

This workshop will be led by Kobe’ Towbridge.

Kobe’ Towbridge is the resident graphic designer for Horizon Youth Theatre. His most notable works for the organization include the current logo and several show posters and promotional materials including “She Kills Monsters”, “Winnie the Pooh” and “The Lightning Thief”. Kobe’ has been designing for 9 years. In that time he has worked with the BGSU Office of Marketing and Branding Strategy, Horizon Youth Theatre, and the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. He currently works as the graphic and web designer for Parrish Health Systems of Ohio.
