Horizon Youth Theatre is a non-profit organization geared towards providing an educational experience in the theatrical arts for children ages 6 to 18. HYT is dedicated to giving equal opportunities to everyone who strives to get involved in the arts regardless of their background. Under the HYT Scholarship Program, five (5) $100 scholarships will be awarded to HYT students exploring the arts and living in Wood and surrounding counties. Children of the HYT board are eligible to apply.

Available Scholarships:

Returning Thespians: Two (2) $100 scholarships are available to HYT students who have performed at least once in an HYT play or musical.

Newcomer Thespians: Two (2) $100 scholarships are available to HYT students who are performing in an HYT play or musical for the first time.

Tech Thespian: One (1) $100 scholarship is available to an HYT student interested in being on tech crew in any capacity for an upcoming HYT play or musical.

Program Guidelines & Priorities:

*Seeking students with a passion for theatre and the desire to perform in at least one (1) of HYT’s plays or musical in the coming season.

*Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA, or is in good standing academically, with proof of said academic standing.

*Scholarship funds will be applied in August 2023 at the start of the new season, wherein they must audition for a role in a play or musical and be cast or participate in crew.

The applications will be reviewed and the recipients selected by a committee consisting of HYT board members. Scholarships will be awarded at the season end Cabaret/Gala.
