Description: The class will explore performance as a confidence building exercise, a way to practice empathy for others and build community, and a way to tap into self-expression through the creation of a Character Self. This will require some work outside of weekly meetings, performing their work both solo and in groups in front of their peers, learning to engage in peer critique, and writing at least one monologue on a topic that is personal to them. Work created for this class will be presented as part of the Festival of Shorts (March 29-31). Special note: Some Saturday evening classes may take the place of Saturday mornings, depending upon the instructor’s work schedule.
