Auditions are open to ages 8-18. No previous experience necessary. We encourage new students.
Students can come to either audition on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sign up for an audition slot on our website – or arrive at 6:00 pm and you will be called as time allows. If you cannot make the scheduled audition times, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

The first read-through for cast and parent meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 at 10:00 am.
Performances will take place at Otsego High School. 18505 Tontogany Creek Rd, Tontogany, OH 43565. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors. Group ticket sales are available.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Can you be heard? The directors wants to know if the audience can hear and understand you. Use your strongest voice.
Are you making choices with the text that show off a character? Engage the audience. Use expression!
Most importantly, have fun!
HOW TO PREPARE:
Students should prepare one of the suggested monologues. Monologues are not required from auditioning students but are encouraged.
Once the cast lists are decided, they will be emailed and posted on our website. If a child is not cast, they are invited and encouraged to audition for the next show.
Rehearsals are about 6 weeks long and a schedule will be provided. Occasionally, a Saturday or Sunday may be required. Actors are expected to be at all rehearsals and performances unless pre-approved by the director. Unexused absences may result in dismissal. Be sure to communicate with the director.
There is a $40 participation fee to perform. A discount may be given to siblings and scholarships may be available. No additional fees will be required. One script is provided for each actor. Students may be required to provide some of their own costume pieces. HYT asks for parent participation by handing out programs, ushering, costumes, helping with performances, advertising, refreshments, or snacks. Sign up opportunities will be provided.
