BGHS Drama Club and the WCDPL Children’s Place present: Drama Workshops!
When: Saturday, January 9
Where: Wood County District Public Library
What: Three acting and devising workshops related to Peter and the Starcatcher
Song and Dance
In this workshop, you’ll learn how music makes a production take off! Rehearse a scene with an underscore to explore why a piano and percussion score helps a scene fly from page to stage. Cast members from Peter and the Starcatcher will teach you a song and dance to
discover how Starstuff turns common fish into colorful mermaids!
Peter Learns to Fly
In this workshop, you’ll learn how the imagination is an important part of bringing story theatre to life. With cast members from Peter and the Starcatcher, practice becoming an ocean, a crocodile, a Pirate ship and more, using only your bodies and your imaginations and invent your own scene for the play!
The Magic of Starstuff
In this workshop, you’ll investigate Starstuff, that powerful substance that helps Peter fly. Where does it come from? What is it made of? Why does it have to be destroyed? Create and
perform your own stories about Starstuff with cast members from Peter and the Starcatcher.
Students can sign up for any one, two, or all three workshops, and a pizza lunch will be provided at noon. Attached you will find a registration form — please fill out and return to the Children’s Place at the Library.
