‘Little Red Robin Hood’ auditions set for later this month
The Horizon Youth Theatre’s production of “Charlotte’s Web” won several awards last month from the Ohio Community Theatre Association.
The local group competed on Aug. 1 with seven other theater groups from Ohio at the OCTAFest Jr. competition held at Owens Community College.
Horizon Youth Theatre was chosen as an alternate, which equated to a third-place finish in only the second year of attending the competition, according to Karen Walters, president of HYT.

“Charlotte’s Web” was originally staged last fall at Otsego High School.
HYT is planning for its next production, “The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet.” A read-through of the play will be Sept. 12 at 1:15 p.m. in the atrium of the Wood County District Public Library.
Auditions for “Little Red Robin Hood,” a one-act play for kids ages 6-12, will be Sept. 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Woodland Mall and Sept. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Otsego Elementary, 18505 Tontogany Creek Road, Tontogany.
Children who are auditioning should choose a monologue and audition date. Students interested in speaking parts may be asked to read from the script. Scripts will be available (but may not be removed) at the library and Grounds for Thought.
Thursday, Oct. 1st at 7pm and Sat. Oct. 3rd at 2pm and 7pm “The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet” will be on stage at Otsego High School Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 3 at 2 and 7 p.m.
Performances of “Little Red Robin Hood” are set for Nov. 5-7 at 7 p.m. at Otsego High School. Tickets will be $5.
